DESCRIPTION:Master vibes player\, Roger Beaujolais\, joins vocalist Véronique Joly\, saxophonist Terry Quinney\, and guitarist Rob Palmer to present the cool Bossa Nova sounds that pay homage to Stan Getz and João Gilberto\, plus some more contemporary songs from the genre. \nThis gig will take place in The Studio at The Mowlem Theatre\,\nShore Road\, Swanage\, BH19 1DD. \nTicket link below \nVibraphone player Roger Beaujolais has been a well-established musician since the ’80s when he found early success touring with the bands Chevalier Brothers and Fairground Attraction\, and later became heavily involved with the ’90s acid jazz movement. Since then\, he has worked with some of the biggest names on the UK jazz scene\, and as a session musician\, he has worked with everyone from Robert Plant to Paul Weller. As a bandleader\, he has produced many albums with his quartet\, and his latest album\, Bags of Vibes\, is a tribute to Milt Jackson and features the great Scottish guitarist Jim Mullen.\n \nThe Bossa Definitiva Trio is fronted by Paris born singer Véronique Joly\, who was the featured vocalist on the BBC series ‘Rick Stein: French Odyssey’ and sings in English\, French and Portuguese. \nCanadian saxophonist Terry Quinney is co-leader of the ‘The Sound Of Blue Note’ band and he has performed with UK jazz icons such as Nigel Price\, Ian Shaw\, Alan Barnes and Jim Mullen. \nGuitarist Rob Palmer is a member of the Afrobeat band Thokozile\, has toured and recorded with pianist John Law and saxophonist Jon Lloyd\, and has also worked with Soft Machine saxophonist Theo Travis\, Jamiroquai keyboard player Matt Johnston\, USA jazz singer Lila Ammons\, and ECM recording artist Philipp Wachsmann. \nRoger Beaujolais: Vibraphone\nVéronique Joly: Vocals & percussion\nTerry Quinney: Tenor saxophone\nRob Palmer: Guitar \nAdmission is £14 (+£1.09 booking fee) \n  \nShare this event

DESCRIPTION:SoundCellar and Tomorrow’s Warriors are delighted to present another up and coming brilliant young band\, SULA here in Poole. \nThis gig will take place at The Grasshopper\,\n139 – 141 Bournemouth Rd\, Poole BH14 9HT. \nPlease note: If parking in either of the car parks at The Grasshopper\, you must register your vehicle on one of the dedicated terminals at the bar or in the function room. \nTicket link below \nSula is a London based trio featuring Miranda Radford (drums)\, Aleks Dimitrova (bass) and Kezia Abuoma (piano)\, all of whom are currently studying jazz at Trinity Laban and being mentored by Tomorrow’s Warriors. \nOne of the SoundCellar team was instantly captivated by the trio’s musical prowess\, when they opened up the Saturday programme on the Big Top stage at the We Out Here festival in August 2025. \nAlready attracting a lot of attention on the London scene\, these exciting young musicians take inspiration from Kris Davis\, Wayne Shorter\, and Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts\, coming together to perform original compositions and music inspired by the sounds of modern jazz. \nAll three of the trio are also key members of the eight-piece ensemble Ankora\, currently making significant waves on the contemporary music circuit. \nWe are pleased to be able to provide our SoundCellar audience with the opportunity to experience this great trio early on in their undoubted progress towards the top. \nABOUT TOMORROW’S WARRIORS\nIf you know your UK jazz\, then you probably already know Tomorrow’s Warriors.
