SUMMARY:LIVESTREAM - TOMORROW'S NEW QUARTET with BEN VAN GELDER
DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to be presenting Tomorrow’s New Quartet\, with their special guest Ben van Gelder\, making their SoundCellar debut together. \nClick here for tickets to attend the physical gig.\nLivestream Ticket link below \nThe quartet is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most exciting jazz bands emerging from the British scene. Taking inspiration from Chick Corea’s ‘Return To Forever’ and Keith Jarrett’s ‘European Quartet’\, Tomorrow’s New Quartet has been thrilling audiences all over the country with its engaging brand of modern jazz. \nLed by drummer / composer Rod Oughton\, the band released its debut album ‘All Together\, Now!’ on the Ubuntu Music label in 2022. Following a successful launch tour\, which culminated in a sold-out show at Pizza Express Dean Street\, the album was named ‘Editor’s Choice’ by Jazzwise Magazine and dubbed ‘very fresh’ by Jumoké Fashola on BBC Radio 3. \nThe band features two more young heavyweights from the next generation of British jazz\, namely Deschanel Gordon on piano and Flo Moore on electric bass. \nFor their performance at SoundCellar\, we are especially delighted that very special guest Ben van Gelder will be joining the band. \nVan Gelder is regarded internationally as a leading authority on the alto saxophone.  Peers and critics alike praise him for his unique sound\, lyricism and personal approach to composition. Van Gelder moved to New York when he was seventeen and spent a decade collaborating and studying with some of the most progressive artists in the world. His teachers included Guillermo Klein\, Jason Moran and Lee Konitz. Van Gelder currently resides in The Netherlands and teaches at the Conservatory of Amsterdam \nRod Oughton: Drums\nDeschanel Gordon: Piano\nFlo Moore: Bass\nBen van Gelder: Alto sax \nThe livestream will be broadcast on YouTube\, via a page available when you purchase a ticket through the link below. \nAll advance ticket buyers will receive an exclusive link to a video of the evening’s performance\, available for one month. \nShare this event

SUMMARY:LIVESTREAM - ROSIE FRATER-TAYLOR
DESCRIPTION:We have been conscious for some time that we needed to introduce Rosie Frater-Taylor to our discerning SoundCellar audiences\, so we’re delighted to finally make it happen. \nClick here for tickets to attend the physical gig.\nLivestream Ticket link below \nRosie is not only a fast-emerging singer-songwriter\, but is also widely regarded as a virtuoso guitarist and a vocalist with a powerful emotional range and depth. \nRosie Frater-Taylor’s current album Featherweight deftly blurs the boundaries between rock\, alt pop\, neo soul\, new-school jazz and folk.  Drawing influence from the likes of Joni Mitchell\, Kate Bush and SoundCellar legend Becca Stevens\, to the rockier roster – where John Mayer\, Meshell Ndegeocello\, Madison Cunningham hold court\, Featherweight asserts an emotional musical maturity and a vast selection of sound-worlds\, all tied together by Rosie’s trademark songwriting\, guitar and vocal style. \n“A gnarly rock foundation heightened by nuanced jazz chords and folk-style finger-picking. Astonishingly mature album for one so young”\nMOJO Magazine \nRosie independently released and produced her sophomore album Bloom\, in 2021. This garnered in excess of three million streams\, was nominated at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards\, and took Rosie and her trio across the UK and Europe for over 60 live shows. This included performances on the main stage at We Out Here festival\, the Barbican for International Women’s Day and several shows supporting Madison Cunningham. \n“Simply riveting. Combining a jazz-infused guitar-meets-vocal vamping style with an indie-rock approach\, Rosie Frater-Taylor is like no other guitarist today”\nGuitar Player Magazine \nDon’t miss the opportunity to see Rosie and her trio here in Poole \nRosie Frater-Taylor: Guitar\, Vocals\nTom Potter: Drums\nDave Edwards: Bass \nThe livestream will be broadcast on YouTube\, via a page available when you purchase a ticket through the link below. \nAll advance ticket buyers will receive an exclusive link to a video of the evening’s performance\, available for one month. \nShare this event
