DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to present London-based Swiss pianist\, singer and composer FABIENNE AMBUEHL and her QUARTET\, for her debut performance at SoundCellar. \nClick here for tickets to attend the physical gig.\nLivestream Ticket link below \nFabienne Ambuehl is known for her vibrant contemporary jazz with a unique blend of folk\, poetry and storytelling. With supple piano playing and rich emotive vocals\, she draws inspiration from the stillness of nature and the sounds of city life. Her music has a striking energy and dynamism\, and captures vivid images of place and landscape. \nAmbuehl first made her mark with Glitterwoods (Traumton\, Berlin)\, listed as an ‘Album of the Year’ by UK Vibe\, and has since played and recorded internationally as a pianist and singer with various artists\, including as the improvising soloist for Jazzchoir Freiburg at the Eurovision Song Contest for Choirs in Riga 2017. \nHer latest album Thrive (Ubuntu Music)\, was released in 2025 to glowing acclaim from the international jazz press.  Jazzwise’s Peter Quinn rated Thrive with 4**** and described it as ‘an impressively immersive musical experience’\, while Nick Lea from Jazzviews describes Ambuehl’s vocals as ‘crystal clear\, distinct and refreshingly free of jazz clichés’. \nThrive was selected ‘Album of the Week’ on both Presto Music and the German Rondo Magazin\, has had regular UK radio play on BBC Radio 3 and was on the JazzFM playlist for several weeks. \nAmbuehl leads a quartet with some of the UK’s most in-demand jazz musicians\, all of them SoundCellar ‘frequent flyers‘: bassist Yuri Goloubev\, Tom Ollendorff on guitar\, and for this special concert they are joined by the fantastic Ryan Thrupp on drums. With compelling rhythms and influences drawn from blues\, Brahms and the Beatles\, the Fabienne Ambuehl Quartet creates a sound that is daring yet intimate\, and truly its own. \nFabienne Ambuehl: piano and vocals\nYuri Goloubev: bass\nRyan Thrupp: drums\nTom Ollendorff: guitar \nThe livestream will be broadcast on YouTube\, via a page available when you purchase a ticket through the link below. \nAll advance ticket buyers will receive an exclusive link to a video of the evening’s performance\, available for one month. \nShare this event

SUMMARY:LIVESTREAM - MANGORATA feat Miles Pillinger & Olivia Cuttill
DESCRIPTION:A perfect way to celebrate International Jazz Day 2026.  After seeing MANGORATA play a fantastic set at We Out Here Festival in 2023\, two of the SoundCellar team were instantly motivated to bring the band here to Poole.  It’s taken well over a year to make it happen\, but we are excited that we are at last presenting this great young band. \nClick here for tickets to attend the physical gig.\nLivestream Ticket link below \nSix Leeds based musicians come together to form Mangorata\, with a sound characterised by wild and inventive improvisation in a jungle of Afro-Cuban\, Brazilian\, Swing and Funk groove. With a wide array of textures\, Mangorata are unafraid to lead their musical stories in fully fledged bustling rhythm\, or stripped back intimacy. \nDrummer Miles Pillinger is fast becoming one of the ‘go-to’ drummers on the London circuit and has recently been awarded the prestigious Peter Whittingham Jazz Award. Trumpeter Olivia Cuttill’s star is exponentially rising too\, as indicated by her success as the recipient of the special Martin Hummel Award at the 2025 Parliamentary Jazz Awards last October. \nTheir shows have already taken them many times around the Leeds circuit and in multiple other parts of the UK. The band’s inspiration draws upon the works of musical legends such as Herbie Hancock (co-curator of International Jazz Day 2026)\, Chick Corea\, Wayne Shorter\, Hermeto Pascoal and many more. \nMangorata’s own latest work\, a self titled EP described as “First class” by Jazz FM’s John Osbourne\, is only the beginning of a new wave of Jazz that the band are excited to continue to spread. \nMiles Pillinger: Drums\nOlivia Cuttill: Trumpet\nJames Absalom: Tenor Saxophone\nLiam Mason: Piano\nChris Williams: Bass\nJJ Petrie: Percussion \nThe livestream will be broadcast on YouTube\, via a page available when you purchase a ticket through the link below. \nAll advance ticket buyers will receive an exclusive link to a video of the evening’s performance\, available for one month. \nShare this event

SUMMARY:LIVESTREAM - SULA
DESCRIPTION:SoundCellar and Tomorrow’s Warriors are delighted to present another up and coming brilliant young band\, SULA here in Poole. \nClick here for tickets to attend the physical gig.\nLivestream Ticket link below \nSula is a London based trio featuring Miranda Radford (drums)\, Aleks Dimitrova (bass) and Kezia Abuoma (piano)\, all of whom are currently studying jazz at Trinity Laban and being mentored by Tomorrow’s Warriors. \nUPDATE: Due to her finals exam date being moved to 14th\, Aleks is now unable to make the gig (we wish her well in the exam!)\, but she is ably replaced for this performance by another excellent young bassist Kobe Heath Ngugi. \nOne of the SoundCellar team was instantly captivated by the trio’s musical prowess\, when they opened up the Saturday programme on the Big Top stage at the We Out Here festival in August 2025. \nAlready attracting a lot of attention on the London scene\, these exciting young musicians take inspiration from Kris Davis\, Wayne Shorter\, and Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts\, coming together to perform original compositions and music inspired by the sounds of modern jazz. \nAll three of the trio are also key members of the eight-piece ensemble Ankora\, currently making significant waves on the contemporary music circuit. \nWe are pleased to be able to provide our SoundCellar audience with the opportunity to experience this great trio early on in their undoubted progress towards the top. \nABOUT TOMORROW’S WARRIORS\nIf you know your UK jazz\, then you probably already know Tomorrow’s Warriors. Over the 35 years the talent development charity has played a vital role within its community and the wider music industry and has been credited with literally changing the face of UK jazz. \nThey have supported 1000s of young musicians and helped nurture the careers of so many of the most exciting UK artists currently tearing up the international jazz scene including Mercury Prize 2023 winners and BRIT Awards Best Group of 2025 EZRA Collective\, Moses Boyd\, Nubya Garcia\, Shabaka Hutchings and Sons of Kemet\, ESKA\, Jason Yarde\, Denys Baptiste\, Robert Mitchell\, Soweto Kinch\, Shirley Tetteh\, Byron Wallen…the list goes on. \n“Tomorrow’s Warriors occupies a unique and vital space in our cultural landscape. Their work in helping positively shape future generations is of critical importance especially with the tribulations we currently face. Please keep supporting – each one\, teach one!” Gilles Peterson \nMiranda Radford: Drums\nKobe Heath Ngugi: Bass\nKezia Abuoma: Keys \nThe livestream will be broadcast on YouTube\, via a page available when you purchase a ticket through the link below. \nAll advance ticket buyers will receive an exclusive link to a video of the evening’s performance\, available for one month. \nShare this event
