Get one here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/livestream-mike-outram-trio-tickets-218851329217\n\n\nWe couldn’t think of a better musician to kick off our brand new (hopefully no lockdowns) year of gigs in 2022\, than the amazing guitarist MIKE OUTRAM with his trio. Mike has played many times at SoundCellar since his debut for us in 2011\, featuring in different ensembles with amazing artists such as Roz Harding\, Karen Street\, Theo Travis\, Pete Callard\, Martin Speake\, Tony Woods\, and Paul & Jeremy Stacey. No matter who he has been playing with\, his mastery of the guitar has always been a major talking point after the gig\, with our discerning audiences! \nTicket link below \nMike has worked and recorded with such luminaries as Steven Wilson\, Carleen Anderson\, Tim Garland\, Asaf Sirkis\, Gareth Lockrane\, Robert Fripp\, Hadrien Feraud\, Julian Siegel\, Nikki Iles\, Laura Rossi & many others. He’s taught for over 20 years at The Royal Academy of Music\, The Guildhall School of Music & Drama\, and Trinity Laban\, London\, and now leads an online community of over 700 guitarists who study jazz guitar & improvisation at ElectricCampfire.com A glance at his discography shows that he has contributed to over 100 recordings\, illustrating that he is one of the most in-demand guitarists on the music scene. \nMike’s first visit back in 2011 was with a trio and we are extremely excited to welcome him back in that format again. The MIKE OUTRAM TRIO this time around not only includes the return of top drummer ANDY TRIM\, with his deep local connections to the area\, but also features another of our absolute favourite SoundCellar regular artists\, the phenomenal keyboard maestro ROSS STANLEY. Ross has played with so many of the best musicians around today\, not least as a member of Trish Clowes’ My Iris band and of the Nigel Price Organ Trio\, but also as a core musician alongside such names as Will Vinson\, Dennis Rollins\, Guy Barker\, Michael Janisch\, Joel Frahm\, Liane Carroll\, Stan Sulzman\, Steve Arguelles\, John Parricelli\, Bobby Wellins\, Clark Tracey\, Trevor Horn\, Jim Mullen\, Steve Howe and Jacqui Dankworth\, amongst others. \nKick off the New Year with this fabulous trio\, as a great introduction to what looks like being a bumper year of fantastic bands and artists that we already have lined up well into autumn 2022. \nThis gig will be held at The Avocet (formerly The Cow)\, next to Parkstone Railway Station. SUMMARY:NCW4 ft. Ivo Neame
DESCRIPTION:NICK COSTLEY-WHITE is one of the most in-demand guitarists on the UK jazz scene\, renowned for a deep understanding of the jazz tradition and repertoire\, alongside a virtuosic technique and progressive approach to improvising. Nick first brought his band to SoundCellar in 2018\, as well as performing (with Brandon Allen) in one of our very successful ‘In Our Own Space’ livestreams during lockdown in 2020. He is now bringing a stellar band for our delectation – the NCW 4 featuring Ivo Neame. \nTicket link below \nNick has performed with some of the most renowned jazz musicians in the country\, including Martin Speake\, Stan Sulzmann\, Gareth Lockrane\, Steve Fishwick\, Jeff Williams\, Julian Siegel\, Ross Stanley\, Emma Rawicz\, Sam Leak\, Helena Kay and Asaf Sirkis.  Nick performs extensively throughout the UK as well as touring in Europe\, Australia\, China and South America. \nNick’s debut album “Detour Ahead” was released in July 2018 to critical acclaim \n“A masterclass in the under appreciated art of playing beautiful\, laid back swing” Jazzwise \nNick has also contributed to over a dozen studio albums as a sideman with a variety of jazz groups including the highly acclaimed Snowpoet.  Upon graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2011\, Nick was awarded the Yamaha Scholarship for Outstanding Jazz Musicians. \nIVO NEAME hardly needs an introduction to SoundCellar regulars\, having played for us on a number of occasions\, plus playing one of our ‘In Our Own Space’ livestreams in 2020 (with Ant Law). \nIvo is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist\, composer and arranger. In addition to leading his own bands\, he is a vital cog in several of European jazz’s most forward-looking groups including Phronesis and the Marius Neset Quintet. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music and is now an Associate of that revered body. Since completing his studies there in 2003\, he has performed and recorded with highly esteemed musicians at home and abroad such as David Binney\, Kenny Wheeler and Hermeto Pascoal. He has also played on more than 50 albums as a sideman and a leader. \nIvo has a whole host of awards and honours to his name\, a snapshot of which include: \nUK Jazz Instrumentalist of the year 2012 (nominated) – Jazz FM Awards \nJazz Ensemble of the year 2017 – Parliamentary Jazz Awards (Phronesis) \nJazz Composition for Small Ensemble 2018 (nominated) – BASCA Composer Awards \nIn addition to being an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music\, Ivo is also an Associate Member of PRS and a Professor in Jazz Piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. \nCompleting the Quartet are yet more of the very best musicians working in the jazz world today.  One of SoundCellar’s absolute favourite bass players CONOR CHAPLIN\, is simply the most in-demand bassist around and the final superstar in the band is percussionist / drummer (and erstwhile top vibes player) LEWIS WRIGHT. \nThis really is a band you shouldn’t miss the chance to see here in Poole. \nThis gig will be held at The Avocet (formerly The Cow)\, next to Parkstone Railway Station.
