With regular appearances at Ronnie Scott’s\, The 606 Club and other famous venues under her belt\, she returns to SoundCellar with a world class band to guarantee a great gig!\n \nThis gig will take place at The Grasshopper\,\n139 – 141 Bournemouth Rd\, Poole BH14 9HT. \nPlease note: If parking in either of the car parks at The Grasshopper\, you must register your vehicle on one of the dedicated terminals at the bar or in the function room. \nTicket link below \n Rachael Calladine is well known with hip hop/jazz fans as the ex lead vocalist with the London based band Us3 (cantaloop/flip fantasia\, Blue Note Records\, EMI) with whom she toured Europe extensively\, appearing at Blue Note Milan\, Gurtenfest Switzerland and MTV festivals\, appearing on MTV numerous times and performing regularly alongside artists such as Jamiroquai\, The Brand New Heavies\, Incognito\, Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone.  \nSession work includes The Spice Girls UK tour 1999-2000\, The Brit Awards and TV work with Kylie Minogue amongst others. As a songwriter\, Rachael has also had a catalogue of internationally released material\, 3 solo albums and high profile compilations such as Giles Petersons worldwide volume 2\, Hed Kandi\, Roger Sanchez and Cafe Del Mar. She has been described as “An astonishing new talent” (Jamie Cullum – BBC Radio 2)\, ‘a force to be reckoned with‘ (Jazzwise) and ‘a fast-rising star‘ (London Jazz News).   At the age of 21 she has already recorded and released an eagerly awaited debut album ‘Incantation’ featuring Ant Law\, made up entirely of her original compositions.  Emma’s second album ‘Chroma’ recorded in summer 2022\, featuring an all-star band of Ivo Neame\, Ant Law\, Conor Chaplin and Asaf Sirkis\, was released in August 2023. \n\nReviews for ‘Chroma’  **** (The Guardian) & **** (Jazzwise) \n\n“…the warp speed of her evolution is showing no sign of slowing” (John Fordham – The Guardian) \nEmma is a recipient of the 2021 Drake Yolanda Award and winner of ‘Best Newcomer’ at the 2022 Parliamentary Jazz Awards\, has a Jazz FM award to her name\, as well as being a finalist in the BBC Young Jazz Musician competition. \nDorset Youth Jazz Orchestra (DYJO) is a youth jazz orchestra led by renowned local jazz musician Terry Quinney. The group has enjoyed a busy gigging calendar with many performances at local music festivals and events.
