SUMMARY:ROSIE FRATER-TAYLOR at The Mowlem
DESCRIPTION:After a recent sold-out gig with her trio at SoundCellar Poole\, we are delighted to join forces with Swanage Jazz Festival to present a solo performance by rising star ROSIE FRATER-TAYLOR at The Mowlem in Swanage. \nThis gig will take place in The Studio at The Mowlem Theatre\,\nShore Road\, Swanage\, BH19 1DD. \nTicket link below \nRosie is not only a fast-emerging singer-songwriter\, but also widely regarded as a virtuoso guitarist and a vocalist with a powerful emotional range and depth. \nHer current album Featherweight deftly blurs the boundaries between rock\, alt-pop\, neo-soul\, new-school jazz\, and folk. Drawing influence from the likes of Joni Mitchell\, Kate Bush and Becca Stevens\, to the rockier roster – where John Mayer\, Meshell Ndegeocello\, and Madison Cunningham hold court – Featherweight asserts an emotional musical maturity and a vast selection of sound-worlds\, all tied together by Rosie’s trademark songwriting\, guitar\, and vocal style. \n“A gnarly rock foundation heightened by nuanced jazz chords and folk-style finger-picking. Astonishingly mature album for one so young” – MOJO Magazine \nRosie independently released and produced her sophomore album Bloom in 2021. This garnered in excess of three million streams\, was nominated at Giles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards\, and took Rosie and her trio across the UK and Europe for over 60 live shows. This included performances on the main stage at We Out Here festival\, at The Barbican for International Women’s Day\, and several shows supporting Madison Cunningham. \n“Simply riveting. Combining a jazz-infused guitar-meets-vocal vamping style with an indie-rock approach\, Rosie Frater-Taylor is like no other guitarist today” – Guitar Player Magazine \nAdmission is £14 (+£1.09 booking fee) \n\n\nShare this event
