A regular invited artist to the SoundCellar stage, JOHN LAW “one of the UK’s most imaginative and versatile jazz pianists” (International Piano Magazine) presents his most recent recording CONFIGURATION, by his regular quartet Congregation, here in trio form tonight. Featuring John on piano, keyboards and samples, he will have Ashley John Long on bass and Andy Chapman on drums.

John has played at over fifty festivals worldwide including North Sea Jazz Festival (Rotterdam), Delhi International Jazz Festival and the London Jazz Festival at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. He has worked with high profile musicians such as Gwilym Simcock, Jason Rebello, Tim Garland and Andy Sheppard and has played in clubs and concert halls all over the UK, mainland Europe, North America and beyond. He has recorded over forty albums.
Showcasing John’s original compositions this evening, the music reflects all the different influences in his varied career: jazz, classical, rock, electronics. Come and hear some of the compositions from the album voted among the top 10 CDs for 2020 in three different jazz publications.

Just show your ticket for that evening’s performance (the ticket QR code on your phone, or a printout). A table must be booked here or tel: 01202 741463 and food orders placed at least 60 minutes prior to the start time of the gig (eg by 7pm for a 8pm start).
