Award winning jazz guitarist Nigel Price returns to SoundCellar for a very special Saturday night gig with bassist Ben Taylor and drummer Andy Chapman. Nigel is one of the most highly regarded and in demand guitarists on the UK jazz scene today. His blend of flowing bebop lines and deep blues feeling has made him popular with jazz, blues and funk audiences throughout the UK and the wider world.

This gig will take place at The Grasshopper, 139 – 141 Bournemouth Rd, Poole BH14 9HT.

Starting his professional career in his early 20s, Nigel toured Europe with various reggae and funk bands before settling on a solo guitar career and turning his attention to jazz. Citing early influences as Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Nigel honed his craft by attending gigs and sitting in with the players of the time.

He spent three years with UK funk legends – the James Taylor Quartet, was voted No.1 in the 2016 British Jazz Awards for “best guitarist” and is also a regular performer at Ronnie Scott’s, where he’s played around 600 times.
