THOKOZILE

Thokozile were formed on the back of a British Council music exchange back to South Africa in 2010. Performing at the legendary ‘Footprints of South Africa concert’ at Poole Lighthouse, their vibrant world and acid jazz influenced sound received such a positive reception, they have continued to sporadically perform ever since, at festivals such as Jazz By The Sea and Swanage Jazz Festival, as well as through support slots opposite bands like James Taylor Quartet and New Cool Collective.

The band have built up a loyal following and are bringing to SoundCellar their trademark melodic saxophone and jangly guitars, along with a kicking rhythm section. Expect melodic, vibrant jazz for the feet as well as the heart, and look out for a long-awaited debut EP later this year.
