Southampton born guitarist Gareth Fowler has been based in New York City since 2016. Tonight he joins forces with virtuoso saxophonist Ian Ellis to front a very special quartet that also features Ben Taylor on bass and Andy Chapman on drums.

Since graduating from the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied privately with Rodney Jones, John Riley and Dayna Stevens, guitarist Gareth Fowler has continued to perform at various venues (55 Bar, Bar Next Door and Carnegie Hall) and teach in the city. He has performed in Iceland, South Africa, Malaysia, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, USA, Denmark, Norway and Holland. Gareth was the first jazz artist to be awarded the Countess of Munster trust Recital award and has plans for an upcoming UK tour. “His playing – richly supportive, harmonically sophisticated, soaring on the solos” Peter Bacon – Jazz Breakfast Ian Ellis has worked as a professional jazz saxophonist since 1985 and has performed live and recorded with stars such as Ruby Turner, Victoria Newton, Artoro Sandoval, and Rumer.
